Cooperative Soap Drive

FreeState Electric Cooperative is sponsoring a soap drive to collect donations for multiple food pantries across the area.

The food pantries in our area function as direct community outreach to serve those who need assistance. The pantries rely on donors, volunteers, and drives like this to stock their shelves and operate. Families or individuals can stop in and get food to eat, but often are also in need of personal care items.

We’re asking our employees, and members to help us collect unused soap products to stock up area food pantries. You can help in multiple ways!

Items to collect:

  • Liquid Soap (hand and body)
  • Bar Soap
  • Shampoo
  • Laundry detergent
  • Dish soap
  • Toothbrushes and toothpaste
  • Other personal care items

Community involvement is the cooperative difference at work. Your co-op needs your help. No donation is too small!

We will be distributing items collected from October 1, 2019, to October 31, 2019, to area food pantries:

  • Jefferson County Service Organization (Oskaloosa)
  • The Good Shepherd (Tonganoxie)
  • Auburn Community Food Pantry (Auburn)
  • Stull United Methodist (Rural Douglas County)
  • Rossville Food Pantry (Rossville)
  • God’s Storehouse (Meriden)
  • Valley Falls Food Pantry (Valley Falls)

If you are unable to donate items, consider a monetary donation. No amount is too small. Questions about the soap drive can be directed to Sarah Farlee, Public Relations, and Marketing Specialist. Checks can be made out to FreeState Electric Cooperative but must be a separate transaction from your monthly payment. Please send donations to:
